About

In 2026 summer, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics from Yan Jici Elite Class in USTC. Currently I'm working in Prof. Hongtao Yang's group at USTC, applying for PhD program for 2027 Fall.

01 / Background

An Odyssey of Research

My research interests began in fundamental physics, for which I participated in search for Higgs boson decay to a pair of muons in 2023 winter under the supervision of Prof. Nan Lu at USTC. This project lasted for nearly 2 years, and in 2025 summer I flew to CERN to further conduct this analysis in collaboration with Caltech's group under the supervision of Prof. Si Xie at Fermilab.

Such physics analysis could be important to deepen our understanding of the Higgs coupling with fermions, but personally, my interest was drawn by machine learning in this work. In addition, I want to explore some innovation beyond fundamental physics. Therefore, I also participated in some projects like a workload profiling of Neural Network Variational Monte Carlo, and a Multi-Agent System development. Also, I served as the student helper in ICML AI4S workshop 2026. These experiences broaden my horizon in this era of AI storm.

However, after such an Odyssey of research path, my interest still lies in the field of fundamental physics, but with a particular interest of AI-enhanced methodology development. From 2026 summer, I work as a research assistant in Prof. Hongtao Yang's group at USTC, studying the post-refinement of multi-task jet tagging model in collaboration with Prof. Bingxuan Liu in SYSU, as my first step back in the intersection of particle physics and AI/ML.

02 / Lifetime

Once upon a Time...

Before entering the University, I grew up in Zhongshan, a small city in the South of China.

My interest in fundamental physics was sparked at an early age, when I first read the rules of our world from the books. Romanticism and nihilism are also key motivations for me beyond the pursuit of scientific knowledge, where physics gives me a feeling of connection to the universe. Like many people viewing the world in this way, I'm interested in philosophy and humanities.

03 / Elsewhere

Outside the Desk.

Started from my first day at USTC, I joined the USTC Martial Arts Association, where I mainly practiced Kick-Boxing and traditional Chinese staff techniques. And I also made some close friends within this club, which enriched my university life significantly. In 2024 summer, I was elected as the president of the USTC Martial Arts Association. Not only did I enlarge the scale of the association 2-fold, but I also organized 1st USTC Martial Arts Tournament and 2nd USTC Wushu Exchange Conference among Hefei universities. This experience greatly enhanced my leadership and organizational skills.

More to be added in the future.
